How to Build Awareness Around Your Agent Brand

Developing a strong personal brand in real estate is essential. Growing your client base requires name recognition. A brand establishes your reputation, building awareness about your services along with positive testimonials and referrals. Being proactive about establishing your brand will create buzz and continue to strengthen your business.

Where should you start? Growing and maintaining a strong, personal brand won’t happen overnight, but here are four steps you can take today to start down the right path.

Know Your Audience

Who are your ideal customers? Where do they live? Where do they work? What motivates them to purchase real estate? How do they spend their time outside of work? What kind of home are they looking for? These answers will determine your audience and how your brand can connect with them.

Be Unique

After identifying your audience, emphasize what separates you from your competition. A brand built upon a foundation of unique qualities will build awareness more effectively. Analyze your past clients and formulate your areas of expertise, your passions, your strengths/weaknesses, and – perhaps most importantly – why past clients picked you. Reach out to past clients about their experiences working with you.

Use Your Picture

An up-to-date professional headshot is a great way to represent your brand. It’s important to be recognizable and this is one of your first opportunities to make a lasting impression. You want people to think of you when they think of real estate and an image of you helps that association. As you know, purchasing or selling a home is a big event in someone’s life and being able to see who they are considering working with builds trust.

Engage Often

A major part of establishing your personal brand will be positioning yourself as knowledgeable resource to your audience. A great way to do this is to create a Facebook Business Page or Instagram profile. Next step is to maintain it! Share relevant content, personal experiences, industry news, and whatever else you believe your network would benefit from seeing. Staying engaged is a great way for people to remember you and your brand.
